Selection of High Yield and Stable Maize Hybrids in Mega-Environments of Java Island, Indonesia

Determination of grain yields stable and high-yielding maize hybrids in a wide environment requires high accuracy. Many stability measurement methods have been used multi-environment experiments. However, the relationships among different are still difficult to understand. The objectives this study were 1. Identify effect growing season location (Environments = E), (Genotypes G), their interactions (GEIs) on yields; 2. Select range environments; 3. Determine relationship between each estimation; 4. mega-environment hybrid identify best locations for testing. Field experiments conducted at ten Java Island, Indonesia, two seasons using randomized completed block design with three replications. experimental results showed that main effects season, location, hybrid, GEIs, significantly affected yields. Stability estimations TOP, S(3), S(6), NP(2), NP(3), KR, NP(4), CVi, bi, belong concept dynamic can be select favorable environments, while other classified as static stability. Three successfully selected, based numerical visual estimations, namely SC2, SC7, SC9. candidates sustainable development programs. dry rainy combination produced mega-environments. GJRS KARS most discriminative environments. Both environments selecting ideal hybrid.
